A DIY Lego Table for Kids for Under $45!
Do your kids LOVE Legos? Have you found Legos EVERYWHERE? I sure do! My girls play for hours with their legos but in different areas of the house…therefore, legos are everywhere and in multiple boxes. Heart loves taking the lego people apart and switching bodies, heads and shirts. Oh this kid! Jewels gets more creative and builds towers and cars. I decided to make a DIY Lego Table and the kids love it!
I wanted to create something where they could sit together and build Legos in their rooms. Without taking up too much space, I wanted a little table to use. Luckily, I found this tiny side table on Amazon for $19.99 and I knew I could turn it into a DIY Lego Table! Amazon also sells the Lego baseplates for $19.99 (in gray and green) which have adhesive backing. With this size table a four pack of the 10×10 baseplates fit perfectly! I chose grey instead of the green for a more modern look and to help it blend in with the table. Putting it together was simple and quick and the kids played with it right away.
Jewels and Heart’s Dad got them into Lego’s as he has always had a love for them. They will build full Star Wars Lego and Disney Lego Sets together which take days. Read Randy’s post, “Lego’s with my Daughters”.
How to build this simple DIY Lego Table:
1. You can purchase any table you’d like but if you want the peel and stick baseplates to fit, a 20″x20″ side table on Amazon works best, as the one mentioned above. Assemble the table as directions show.
2.Next take the peel and stick baseplates and remove the backing. Do one at a time because they are very sticky and once you place them on something they will stick.
3. Line the baseplate up with one of the corners of the table, making sure the two sides are perfectly lined up with the edges of the able. Stick and press down the baseplate. Repeat this step with the other baseplates. To make sure they are perfectly aligned use legos over the seam of the pieces and this helps to hold it down. Press them all down firmly in the middle and there you have it!
