Valentine’s Day Red Velvet Baked Doughnuts

February 9, 2023
Jewels and Heart Baked Doughnuts Red Velvet Cream Cheese Frosting

We are huge fans of anything red velvet and these Valentine’s Day Red Velvet Baked Doughnuts are on the top of that list.  The moistness and sweet taste of these doughnuts makes them the perfect treat to bring to any Valentine’s Day party. Make them for your special someone and enjoy them for a Valentine’s night dessert. Doughnuts are so classic, you can’t go wrong with a sweet treat such as these.

Jewels had been wanting to make doughnuts in the new doughnut pan we just bought on Amazon. These doughnut pans are great to use since the doughnuts came out easily and the pan cleaned up really well.  With Valentine’s Day approaching, we knew we wanted to showcase a red or pink doughnut, then came the thought of red velvet.

Every Christmas we always make our award winning Red Velvet Cake Balls for our family, friends, and neighbors. These cake balls are made with cream cheese frosting so the thought of doughnuts with a cream cheese frosting, it was a no brainer.

Baking Supplies You Will Need

Doughnut Pan
Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls
Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer
Silicone Mixing Spoons
Measuring Cups and Spoons
Food Coloring

Have A Decorating Party

Kids will love making these doughnuts and especially decorating them.  Put out a spread of sprinkles, frostings, and other topping favorites and you can have yourself a playdate party or a fun activity to do at your child’s birthday party.

It doesn’t take too long to get all the ingredients for these Valentine’s Day Red Velvet Baked Doughnuts together.  Once prepared they only take 10-12 minutes to bake.  Since these doughnuts are made with your most common baking staples, you more than likely have most of the ingredients on hand in the pantry.

Storage and Freezing

Storing: Store any leftover doughnuts in an airtight container in the refrigerator.  They are best if you eat them within a couple of days, but they should be good for up to 5 days,

Freezing: If you don’t want to eat all of the doughnuts now, you can freeze them. Put them in the refrigerator first so the frosting can harden. Then after a while, wrap them in Handi Wrap then in Aluminum Foil.  I then place them in a gallon sized freezer bag and then lay flat in the freezer.  You can freeze these muffins for up to 3 months. You can remove them one at a time and let them thaw at room temperature.

Create your own Topping Variation
